Our team is skilled at assessing and treating psychosocial and mental health problems. We strive to assist patients with learning new ways to respond to stressful events that impact their lives. We use evidence based modalities for both individual and group counselling. We take a strengths based approach to help patients develop skills and improve their coping capacity to enhance positive change. We are also advocates for patients who are in need of referrals to other community based programs and professionals. Our team will assist with goal setting and problem solving which is individual to each person. We work collaboratively with physicians and other family health team members to coordinate care in order to maximize positive outcomes. We provide psychoeducation for patients and their families and help patients to understand the connections between physical, social, and mental health. Our services are voluntary, and patient focused. Our services are funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. If you are a rostered patient and in need of mental health/counselling supports please speak to your health care provider about a referral, or you may request this service on your own by calling in to the clinic.
